چکیده

Sulfated polysaccharides isolated from seaweeds are thought of as ideal ingredients in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetics industries. Our previous study characterized sulfated Padina boryana. The boryana (PBP) were extracted, antioxidant activity PBP was evaluated. results indicate that possesses effects potential cosmetic industry. To further investigate cosmetics, photoprotective anti-melanogenesis test display reduced melanin content murine melanoma cells stimulated by alpha melanocyte-stimulating hormone 203.7% to 183.64%, 144.63%, 127.57% at concentrations 25 μg/mL, 50 100 respectively. anti-photodamage showed significantly protected skin against UVB-stimulated photodamage. suppressed human epidermal keratinocyte (HaCaT cell) death inhibiting apoptosis reducing level intracellular reactive oxygen species. species HaCaT irradiated UVB 192.67% 181.22%, 170.25%, 160.48% μg/mL PBP, In addition, remarkably UVB-induced dermal fibroblast damage suppressing oxidative damage, collagen degradation, attenuating inflammatory responses. These activities suggest is a ingredient

[Neuroprotective effects of sulfated polysaccharides from seaweed].

Currently, neurodegenerative diseases (NDD) occupy a significant place in the structure of disease of the elderly, which dictates the need to find new and effective treatment and prevention of this pathology. At the heart of NDD development is a violation of the metabolism and the conformational change of cellular proteins with subsequent accumulation and aggregation of their in certain groups ...

Evaluation of the Anti-tuberculosis and Cytotoxic Potential of the Seaweed Padina australis

Background: Marine seaweeds synthesize different types of compounds with various biological activities, including anti-tuberculosis and anticancer effects. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate anti tuberculosis of Padina australis and cytotoxicity of different fractions of this seaweed. Methods: Padina australis was collected from coasts of Persian Gulf, identified and e...

Sulfated polysaccharides purified from two species of Padina improve collagen and epidermis formation in the rat

Sulfated polysaccharides have shown promising effects on wound healing processes along with many other biological activities. The sulfated polysaccharides extracted from two algae species habitats in Persian Gulf were studied in vivo for their effects on collagen formation and epidermal regeneration. The polysaccharides were purified from aqueous extracts of P. tetrastromatica and P. boergeseni...

Antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities of a sulfated polysaccharide isolated from the green seaweed Caulerpa cupressoides.

BACKGROUND Red and brown algae sulfated polysaccharides (SPs) have been widely investigated as antinociceptive and/or anti-inflammatory agents; however, no description of these biological properties concerning green algae SPs have been reported. Caulerpa curpressoides (Chlorophyta) presents three SPs fractions (Cc-SP1, Cc-SP2, and Cc-SP3). Anticoagulant (in vitro) and anti- and pro-thrombotic (...

Fucans, but Not Fucomannoglucuronans, Determine the Biological Activities of Sulfated Polysaccharides from Laminaria saccharina Brown Seaweed

Sulfated polysaccharides from Laminaria saccharina (new name: Saccharina latissima) brown seaweed show promising activity for the treatment of inflammation, thrombosis, and cancer; yet the molecular mechanisms underlying these properties remain poorly understood. The aim of this work was to characterize, using in vitro and in vivo strategies, the anti-inflammatory, anti-coagulant, anti-angiogen...
